Patricia D. Whiting Hall is available for rent for your various meetings and celebrations such as weddings, reunions, quinceañeras, and receptions. There is a 1,200 sq ft meeting room, a 600 sq ft multipurpose room, and a small kitchen that is equipped with a refrigerator, stove, microwave, and sink.

Maximum occupancy is 175 people and the rental includes (20) 6 ft tables and (120) chairs. The hall is surrounded by a seven-acre, fully accessible park in a forested environment, and features a variety of outdoor play equipment.

Rates:

  • Weekend Rate (Friday-Sunday):
    • $400/half day (up to 4 hours)
    • $600/full day (up to 8 hours)
       
  • Weekend Rate (Friday-Sunday) for LID Residents only:
    • $200/half day (up to 4 hours)
    • $400/full day (up to 8 hours)
       
  • Weekday Rate (Monday-Thursday):
    • $35/hour, 2-hour minimum
    • LID Resident & Orgs*: 2-hour FREE, then $35/hour
       
  • All Rentals: Refundable cleaning hold/deposit - $200

       *LID Resident (for personal use); Community-based 501(c)(3); or government sponsored.

Is the building air conditioned?
Yes. The hall is air conditioned.
Music and Sound System
Music is allowed until the neighborhood quiet hours go into effect at 10 pm. The hall is not equipped with speakers or sound equipment.
Are there linens and silverware available at the hall?
No, the hall does not come stocked with utensils, linens or dinnerware.
Can we serve alcohol?
No, alcohol is not allowed on the premises.
What do we need to do for cleaning? Do you have cleaning supplies available?

There is a broom, a mop, and a mop bucket available for use. Garbage bags, soaps, and other cleaning products are not kept at the hall and will need to be brought in with you. Cleaning includes:

  • Wiping down tables and chairs

  • Putting all tables and chairs back to their designated place

  • Sweeping and mopping floors

  • Taking out the garbage

  • Bathrooms are tidy

Do I pay all at once?
Payment is due in full to complete your reservation. This includes the $200 cleaning hold/deposit. This amount is released if the facility is left in the condition it was received - clean and free of damages. See section below on how to ensure your $200 deposit is released. 
Is there parking available?
There is a first-come first-serve parking lot available for use that holds approximately 30 cars, and a gravel lot that holds approximately 10 cars.There is also limited neighborhood parking as well. 
Is the hall easily accessible by public transit?
There is a TriMet MAX stop (SW Greenburg & Lehman) 0.8 miles away.
Can I access the hall early to setup?
Your door code will give you access to the building at the time you reserved the space. Please incorporate your setup and cleanup into your rental times. The maximum rental window is 8 hours. 
Is there a designated smoking area?
Metzger Park is a No Smoking Park. This is not exclusive to just cigarettes; vape pens, pipes, juules, etc. are not allowed on the premises. 
BBQs and Kitchen Use
There are no BBQs or grills available at the park.
There is a small, basic kitchen onsite. Please note, frying in oil is prohibited in the kitchen.
Can we bring in dunk tanks / inflatables / rock climbing walls?
Unfortunately, we do not allow inflatable obstacle courses or bouncy houses, rock climbing walls, or dunk tanks at the park.
Can we have sparklers at our event?
No. Any and all fireworks are prohibited at Metzger Park.
What are some reasons people have lost their cleaning deposits in the past?

Some of the bigger reasons that folks have lost some, or all, of their deposit include but are not limited to:

  • Leaving behind glitter, water balloons, and confetti around the area

  • Silly string/spray being left on the floors/grass/walls

  • Helium balloons getting stuck on the ceiling

  • Not sweeping and mopping the floors

Please Note: if a fire alarm is pulled or if emergency services are called for a false alarm you forfeit your entire deposit!

My 501(c)(3) organization wants to rent the hall for a community event—do we get a discounted rate?
We do have discounted rates available for organizations putting up events for the benefit of the local Metzger community.
