Washington County Sheriff Office Marine Patrol: Working to keep you safe

Washington County Parks has a long-standing partnership with the Marine Patrol, a Sheriff’s Patrol Division special team. With 2 full-time positions, and nearly a dozen part-time or fill-in positions, the Marine Patrol promotes safety on shore and on the water.

Among the many duties they perform, deputies ensure that each vessel contains life jackets, fire extinguishers, and sound devices. Deputies enforce safe boating practices, proper use of no-wake zones, registrations, and licenses. They also partner with Park staff on annual clean-up days and special events.

The Marine patrol is active on many bodies of water in Washington County, including the Tualatin River, and Barney Reservoir. Hagg Lake receives their primary focus.
