Our Fall/Winter StoryWalk® is here!

A StoryWalk® is a hike in a natural area that features the pages of a storybook mounted along the trail. Currently, Washington County Parks is featuring the picture book We Are Water Protectors. Inspired by the many Indigenous-led movements across North America, the story issues an urgent rallying cry to safeguard the Earth’s water from harm and corruption—a bold and lyrical picture book written by Carole Lindstrom and vibrantly illustrated by Michaela Goade.

Winner of the 2021 Caldecott Medal. #1 New York Times Bestseller.

The half-mile hike begins at the trailhead of Cedar Grove (#32), and is a family-friendly activity for all ages.

The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. StoryWalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.
